Land Cruiser
Finally the Camel of the Arabian desert has got a long awaited cosmetics as well as technological update since Toyota has revealed the new 300-series generation of the Land Cruiser SUV. Compared with its predecessor, this new Land Cruiser is lighter, more powerful, and has a far more modern interior. The new chassis saves approximately 200 Kilograms over the old SUV while improving weight distribution and providing a lower centre of gravity.
Highlights
- Accommodates a standard nine-inch infotainment or an optional 12.3-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree camera, and a head-up display.
- The cabin has been given a huge overhaul for this newest generation.
- Three rows of seats will be available, and the third row appears to fold into the floor.
- Carries over the approach angle of 32 degrees from its predecessor. The departure angle can reach 26.5 degrees depending on the version, while ground clearance measures 230mm (9.05 inches).
- There's a "Multi-Terrain Monitor," which displays obstacles at the front of the car (similar tech also found in the all new Land Rover Defender) & and "Multi-Terrain Select," which automatically selects the best driving mode base on road conditions.
- Comes with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and Electronically Controlled Kinetic Dynamic Suspension Stabilization (E-KDSS) System.
Performance
The naturally aspirated V-8 in the 200-series Land Cruiser has been removed for the LC300 model, replaced by two choices of twin-turbo V-6. The first is a 3.5-liter gasoline model making up to 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, and the next is a 3.3-liter diesel-powered motor good for 304 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Both engines send power to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
