 BMW M340i

BMW is ready to launch its all new M performance car in India which is based on the current 3 series named M340i. It will be launched on March 10 and some of the major highlights are :
  • Its the first M Performance model to be locally assembled in India.
  • BMW to increase localisation of its M Performance models.
  • The M340i will use a 374hp, 3.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder engine.
  • It will come with X-Drive system for greater stability and performance.

Features

It will be speced with features that are on higher trims of the 3 series like with the latest 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system which will have the BMW's idrive system, voice commands, gesture control, LED headlights and tail-lights, three-zone automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera and many more.

Performance

The beast will be powered by a 3 litre inline 6 cylinder, twin turbo petrol engine which will give you 374hp and 500Nm of torque which is mated to an  8-speed automatic gearbox and power will be sent to all four wheels via BMW’s X-Drive all-wheel-drive system.
Other mechanical upgrades over the standard car include M-specific suspension technology which gives you comparatively stiffer ride, M Sport differential, M Sport brakes and an M Sport exhaust system. All these M Performance parts are added to improve the car’s dynamics.

Conclusion

Going to be priced around 65 lakhs its a great step by BMW to make its M performance cars in India by which they can reduce the cost which is paid extra for the CBU cars which requires import duties and other extra taxes.
