Is the new Tata Altroz iTurbo variant any different from the naturally aspirated variant??

Tata Altroz is one of the best seller of Tata in the premium hatchback segment whose main rival is the all new Hyundai i20. This is the only car in India in this segment to give you a 5-star safety rating in crash test right now. The car is built under Tata's Alpha platform and has the design cues evolved from the 45x concept.

This car was launched in January 2020 and now after one year Tata has launched the turbo variant of the Altroz petrol . 

Altroz iTurbo

Altroz iTurbo have the same interior and exterior design as that of its normal petrol and Diesel variant its exterior design have some similarities with Tata Tiago but Altoz's design is way too edgy.

The main speciality of the iTurbo is the all new  1.2-litre i-Turbo, three-cylinder petrol engine which produces 110hp at 5,500rpm which is 25hp more than the normal variant and 140Nm of torque between 1,500 to 5,500rpm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and offers a claimed mileage of 18 kmpl.

It comes with two drive modes city and sports for those who need better performance, and it also have the best in class Harman Kardon infotainment with iRA and also have a new paint called the Harbour blue.

iRA connect

iRA offers 27 features with five layers of connectivity, which include – remote commands, vehicle security, location-based services, gamification, and live vehicle diagnosis. The vehicle is capable of identifying more than 70 commands in Hindi, English, and Hinglish. Tata Altroz i-Turbo also comes equipped with Xpress cool, leatherette seats, personalised wallpaper on the infotainment screen, and one shot up power window. The Altroz i-Turbo variant also gets two additional tweeters by Harman.

Conclusion

This iTurbo variant is priced at approximately 8-10 lacs so if you are more of a performance biased person then you can shortlist it because at the same price range Hyundai i20 gives you more power and the fit and finish quality of interior is a step ahead than the Altroz.
